Gitisi Secondary and TVET School was established by a group of women dedicated to empower youth and women through vocational education. The initiative began with a community discussion, leading to the formation of an association that secured support from the Adventist Church of Rwanda Gitisi Church, which provided initial classrooms. Officially launched in 2002 with Masonry and Tailoring as its first programs, the school quickly gained popularity but faced space limitations. To accommodate growing demand, the association sought additional funding and partnerships, including support from Jumelage Rhénanie Palatinat, enabling the construction of more classrooms and facilities. Over time, the school expanded significantly, adding workshops, dormitories, offices, a kitchen, and other essential infrastructure. With continued development, Gitisi Secondary and TVET School remains committed to equipping students with practical skills, ensuring quality education, and fostering opportunities for trainees and trainers.
